Iran Newspaper Warns About 'Electoral Exclusion'

The Iran newspaper announced that 'the final chapter of the report on Iran's nuclear case is ready,' stating that 'Yukiya Amano, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, will soon publish his last and most important report, which will be the basis for lifting sanctions against Iran.' The newspaper wrote: 'Yukiya Amano confirmed the absence of any deviation in Iran's nuclear activities in his preliminary statement at the start of the Board of Governors meeting,' but added, 'We cannot guarantee anything regarding undeclared activities by Iran.' According to this newspaper, Amano's statement was interpreted by 'some media as uncertainty regarding the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities, but Iran's representative at the IAEA clarified that this type of positioning is what the Agency adopts for all countries that do not implement the Additional Protocol.' Kayhan, however, has a different opinion from Iran newspaper and in its front page emphasized that 'the Agency backtracked, predictions were correct,' writing: 'Despite critics' requests months ago that until the alleged military dimensions of Iran's nuclear program – PMD – are concluded by the Agency, the implementation of the JCPOA by Iran should not begin, this request was met with indifference and neglect by the government to the point that Amano announced that PMD would not be closed and no guarantee could be provided for the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear programs.' The Javan newspaper, close to the Revolutionary Guards, dedicated its front page to Mohammad Reza Naqdi, quoting the Basij commander as saying: 'The U.S. Secretary of State, who smiles at the negotiating table and is about to shed tears of joy for his negotiations, has personally planned and is managing 34 subversive projects.' Mohammad Reza Naqdi also stated: 'The virtual space, feminism, tourism, street and electoral riots are among these projects.' The Iran newspaper criticized those who introduce themselves as 'close to the leadership' in a note titled 'Exclusionary Behaviors in the Path of Elections,' who attempt to eliminate their rivals with the accusation of 'distance from the leadership.' The Ebtekar newspaper also reported on its front page about 'the behind-the-scenes insults of hardliners to reformists,' citing statements from some principlists, including Mohammad Ismail Kowsari against reformists, calling it 'we have a fear of reforms.' The Etemad newspaper quoted Ali Khomeini, the grandson of Ayatollah Khomeini, on its front page stating: 'Sanctions on elections are of no benefit.' Mohammad Reza Tajik, a figure close to reformists, also stated in an interview with Etemad that 'a moderate layer of reformists can take the majority of the next parliament.' The Shargh newspaper, in its Saturday editorial titled 'Attacking Intellectuals in a Semi-Private Way,' wrote: 'Hardliners have not succeeded in anything, but they have succeeded in hegemonizing the attack on intellectuals.' Ahmad Gholami, the editor-in-chief of Shargh, pointed out that the term 'semi-private' arose from the partial transfer of state resources and large industries to the private sector, stating: 'This economic rule has now spread to our culture and politics as well.' The Farhikhtegan newspaper reported on Saturday about the issuance of hunting licenses in 21 provinces of Iran, writing: 'When in 2014 the Environmental Protection Organization did not issue a hunting license, this hope arose in the hearts of environmentalists that perhaps this plan would continue in the following years, but the issuance of hunting licenses for birds in 21 provinces has disturbed the sweet dreams of birds, especially migratory birds that fly to northern provinces in autumn.' The Bahar newspaper reported the exit of Saeed Mortazavi from Iran, stating that 'Saeed Mortazavi, the dismissed judge of the judiciary and accused in the major Social Security Organization case, convicted of the Kahrizak crimes and suspected in the major oil corruption case, has left Iran.' This newspaper simultaneously quoted the lawyer of the Social Security Organization stating: 'Mortazavi left Iran without posting bail.' The Resalat newspaper reported on its front page, quoting Morteza Aqa Tehrani, the Secretary-General of the Stability Front, stating: 'The Coordination Council of Principlists has been formed.' Morteza Aqa Tehrani mentioned that the electoral coalition of principlists started with three sides: Stability Front, Motalefeh, and Esharagan, and today Mr. Hadad Adel and Bahonar also participate in our meetings; of course, there are eight of us working together in these sessions.' The Resalat newspaper quoted Morteza Aqa Tehrani stating: 'We held meetings with principlist friends and agreed on several principles, and we hope that no one disrupts these agreements and that we all firmly stand on these principles, the first of which is to stand on the basis of leadership and loyalty to the leadership, not to cooperate with those who were instigators and played a role in the sedition, and to unite based on principles and values and stand firm on them,' and if 'we can proceed well, we hope to reach a single list for the elections.' The Farhikhtegan newspaper reported on the funeral ceremony of Ghazanfar Roknabadi, former Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, stating that 'a few days after the announcement of Roknabadi's disappearance' in the Mina incident this year, 'Lebanese newspapers reported the former Iranian ambassador's survival,' and it was even said that 'he might have been injured in the crowd and transferred to the hospital by ambulance, and in the meantime, speculations about the abduction of this diplomat arose. However, with the travel of two family members to Saudi Arabia to follow up on the matter, after DNA tests, the identification process was completed, and the preparations for his return to the homeland were made.' The Shahrevand newspaper announced that 'Herandi has become agitated again,' reporting on 'the protest gathering of the residents of the Herandi neighborhood against the presence of addicts and homeless people in the Haqani Park of Shush.' This newspaper quoted the manager of the Herandi neighborhood stating that 'the time has come for the municipality and welfare organizations to take action; of course, promises have also been made, and they said they would remove addicted and homeless women from here in three days and the rest of the addicts in three months. But the residents cannot wait any longer.'
