Iranian Woman 'Avenger of Qassem Soleimani' Will Not Go to Prison; 3 Years Suspended Sentence for Nika Nikoubin

A Texas college student who stabbed an American man in retaliation for the U.S. drone strike that killed Qassem Soleimani in 2020 has been sentenced to three years of probation, meaning she will not go to prison. According to Fox News, the judge sentenced Nika Nikoubin to three years of probation. She, who immigrated to the United States from Iran at the age of 12, told the court that she suffers from mental health issues including severe depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. According to the Henderson police report, Nikoubin and the American man met on a dating website and agreed to meet at a hotel on March 5. Police stated that while they were in a room at the hotel, Nikoubin blindfolded the man's eyes and they engaged in sexual activity. During this time, Nikoubin turned off the lights, and moments later, the man felt pain in his neck. The police report indicated that the woman allegedly attacked the man with a knife during sexual intercourse as an act of revenge for the killing of Qassem Soleimani by the United States. Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in a U.S. drone strike near Baghdad airport in January 2020. The woman claiming to 'avenge Qassem Soleimani' is undergoing mental health evaluation.
