Iranian Writers Association: The Grave of Freedom Seekers Will Not Be the Grave of Seeking Freedom

This association emphasized in a statement on July 6 that women have been at the forefront of the struggle for freedom since the establishment of this regime, and this time they have not stepped back, demonstrating through their perseverance and tireless pursuit that the freedom of women is non-negotiable and cannot be postponed. The Iranian Writers Association further stressed: 'Now, with the formation of a public solidarity, people are showing their support for protesting women in various ways, and this solidarity is the very force that makes overcoming any difficulty possible.' In the continuation of its statement, the association pointed to the ongoing repression by the regime, widespread arrests, torture, intimidation, and the issuance and enforcement of various sentences against individuals such as 'Tomaaj Salehi', 'Maryam Akbari Monfared', and 'Sepideh Gholian', adding: 'The public, work, and educational spaces for protesting women have become unsafe, and the regime, which has trapped people in the stranglehold of poverty and misery with additional economic pressure, seeks to turn the hungry and impoverished into 'known perpetrators.' At the end of this statement, the Iranian Writers Association condemned the recent repressions and called on all freedom-loving people and aligned institutions worldwide to be the voice of the protesters, the detainees, and political prisoners, and to block the regime's encroachment on the lives and wellbeing of the people.
