Iran's Team Misses Out on Final Match of World Youth Volleyball Championship

In the ongoing eighth edition of the World Youth Volleyball Championship, Iran's team was defeated by India in the semifinals. According to ISNA (Iranian Students' News Agency), the Iranian national team, which was defending its runner-up title from the Cairo World Championship, was eliminated from reaching the final after losing to the Indian national team. In a fiercely contested match, Iran could not convert its previous defeat against India in the Asian Championship into a victory, losing the match 3-1 with scores of 25-15, 22-25, 25-19, and 25-20. Ebrahim Naimati, the Secretary of the Iranian Volleyball Federation, stated in an interview with ISNA that it seemed our players had many weaknesses in defense, jump serves, and reception during today's game against India, and we needed to change our individual tactics so that the opponent could not identify our weaknesses. He added that given our knowledge of the Indian national team, we could have won this match. Naimati emphasized that the Indian team, with its skilled setter, played a crucial role in their victory. Regarding Iran's upcoming match against the Czech team, which will take place tomorrow, he said that based on Iran's previous victories against the Netherlands and Italy, we should also succeed against this team. Therefore, the Iranian national team will compete for the third and fourth place against the Czech team, while Brazil and India will play in the final. It is noteworthy that the Brazilian national team defeated the Czech team 3-0 earlier today.
