Iraqchi: Iran's Cooperation with the Agency on Past Issues is Over

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran stated that "with the completion of the information required by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran's cooperation with the Agency in this regard has ended, and the Agency confirmed that Iran has done everything necessary to resolve past issues." Abbas Iraqchi said on Friday, October 24, to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that the Agency "no longer has any questions regarding past issues or so-called PMD from Iran because all questions have been answered, all necessary documents have been provided, and complete transparency has been achieved by Iran." These remarks by Abbas Iraqchi came a day after the IAEA announced that the Islamic Republic, based on the "roadmap," has provided all necessary items for evaluating its past nuclear activities to this organization. The IAEA, based on the "roadmap" signed on the sidelines of the nuclear agreement between world powers and Iran, is tasked with commenting on the Islamic Republic's past nuclear activities and monitoring its future activities. In a recent statement, the Agency emphasized that Yukiya Amano, the Director General of this organization, will present his final report on the Islamic Republic's past activities to the Board of Governors by December 15. Meanwhile, some experts believe that Iran must respond to more questions by that time. Yukiya Amano visited the military site of Parchin near Tehran on September 20. The Agency and some countries around the world were suspicious that Iran had conducted activities related to the development of nuclear weapons at the Parchin site in the past. In this context, Najafi called for the closure of the past issues of Iran's nuclear program. Baidi-Nejad stated that the implementation of the roadmap is the result of the participation of the country's defense sector. Ahmad Jannati stated that the Leader of Iran has not signed the implementation of the JCPOA.
