Activities at Erbil International Airport in Iraqi Kurdistan have been suspended following the downing of an explosive drone near the airport. According to Rudaw TV, armed Shiite groups close to the Islamic Republic, calling themselves 'Islamic Resistance in Iraq,' claimed responsibility for the drone attack on Monday. The Counter-Terrorism Organization of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq also issued a statement indicating that this drone attack occurred at 4:30 PM on Monday against a military base of the international coalition forces against ISIS near Erbil International Airport and resulted in no casualties.
