IRGC Claims Arrest of 12 'Collaborators' of Israel in Iran

On Sunday, October 1, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have arrested 12 individuals who, according to this force, were 'collaborating' with Israel and planning actions against national security in six provinces of Iran. The Islamic Republic has repeatedly claimed to have arrested individuals alleged to be collaborators or spies for Israel, yet despite these claims of intelligence superiority, it has faced unexpected blows that have also been attributed to Israel. In a statement, the IRGC claimed that Israel and its Western supporters have been 'defeated' in Gaza and Lebanon and are now trying to bring the 'crisis' into 'the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.' This comes at a time when, despite efforts by the U.S. and Europe to stop the war in Gaza and prevent larger conflicts in the region, the Islamic Republic's proxy forces have increased the risk of war expansion by attacking Israel and ships in the Red Sea.
