IRGC Reports the Destruction of a 'Terrorist Team' in Southeast Iran

The Quds Headquarters of the IRGC announced that on Monday morning, April 6, a raid on 'a terrorist team' in southeast Iran resulted in the deaths of members of this group. According to Sepah News and IRNA, the public relations announcement of the Quds Headquarters identified this group as 'affiliated with foreign intelligence services in the region.' The location of this operation was reported to be 'Qasr Qand' and 'Nikshahr' in Sistan and Baluchestan province. The announcement from the Quds Headquarters did not provide further details, only mentioning that 'this operation was carried out after a series of reconnaissance, pursuit, and evasion operations in recent days, and significant amounts of weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment were seized by the fighters of this headquarters.' In recent months, numerous reports of armed clashes in Sistan and Baluchestan province have been published. For instance, Mohammad Reza Naqdi, head of the Basij Organization in Iran, reported on Friday, March 19, that three police officers lost their lives to bombs made by 'terrorists.' Earlier, on January 1, a teacher and a member of the Basij were killed by two motorcyclists in the village of Nasirabad, near the city of Rask. Following the assassination of these individuals, the police commander of Sistan and Baluchestan announced on January 4 that members of 'a terrorist group' related to this assassination had been arrested. However, Hossein Ali Amiri, spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Interior, stated on March 15 that several members of 'counter-revolutionary and outlaw groups' in western and southern Iran, including the provinces of Kermanshah, Kurdistan, and Sistan and Baluchestan, had 'surrendered.' Ali Osoat Hashemi, governor of Sistan and Baluchestan, also reported on the same date that from the beginning of 1393 until the end of that year, 64 amnesty letters had been issued for 'repentant outlaws.'
