IRGC: We have dismantled a team related to the Mojahedin-e Khalq

On Sunday, April 15, the commander of the Quds Ground Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the dismantling of what he called a "malicious team" linked to the Mojahedin-e Khalq organization in Sistan and Baluchestan province. Mohammad Marani, in an interview with the Tasnim news agency, stated: "With the cooperation and interaction of Shia and Sunni people in Sistan and Baluchestan, a terrorist group affiliated with the Monafeqin was completely dismantled in Nikshahr County." According to the commander, during this operation, "Ahmad Sahoui," the leader of this team, along with four other members of the group, were killed in the village of Chanf in Nikshahr. The IRGC commander mentioned that Ahmad Sahoui was a former member of the Mojahedin-e Khalq and had undergone "sabotage" training for three years at Camp Ashraf in Iraq. Marani also reported the discovery of a quantity of weapons and ammunition during the operation. He added: "Armed robberies and murder are among the records of this malicious team, which had been under surveillance by security forces for a long time. In this operation, five military weapons and a quantity of ammunition were discovered and seized." Earlier in Esfand, Mahmoud Alavi, the Iranian Minister of Intelligence, also reported the arrest of individuals at the southeastern and western borders of the country who, according to him, intended to carry out "terrorist" actions during the elections on the seventh of Esfand. While Iranian security-military officials report the "dismantling" of a group affiliated with the Mojahedin-e Khalq in Sistan and Baluchestan province, there have been few reports of the presence of teams linked to this organization in eastern Iran.
