ISIS Claims Responsibility for Brussels Explosions

The Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the explosions in Brussels, the capital of Belgium. The news network "Amaq," affiliated with the group, mentioned Belgium as one of the countries in the international coalition led by the United States against ISIS, stating that the group's fighters were responsible for the attacks that have so far resulted in the deaths of at least 35 people and injuries to around 200 others. Following these events, described as the largest terrorist attacks in Belgium's history, three days of national mourning have been declared in the country. Government flags and buildings belonging to European Union organizations have also been flown at half-mast. Brussels is the headquarters of the Union, Council, Commission, and Parliament of the European Union. The city is home to one of the largest Muslim minorities in Europe, with some neighborhoods like Molenbeek known as bases for extremist groups and jihadist Islamists. Reports indicate that two bombs exploded at the airport and one bomb at a Brussels metro station. A third bomb was also reported at the airport, which security forces managed to defuse. The Belgian police released an image of a man dressed in white and wearing a hat, identifying him as a suspect in the airport explosion. In this context, the Belgian Prime Minister stated: 'What we feared has happened to us.' Obama's reaction to the Brussels events: 'We will defeat the terrorists.'
