ISIS Releases Video of 'Attackers on Ahvaz Parade'

The Islamic State group, or ISIS, has released a video on the 'Amaq' site claiming to show images and statements from three of the four attackers involved in the military parade assault in Ahvaz. The attackers, two of whom speak Arabic and one who speaks Persian, are recorded in a moving vehicle, all wearing military attire. The Persian-speaking attacker states, 'We will kill the infidels with a strong guerrilla operation.' The three individuals refer to their actions as 'martyrdom' in the path of God. Radio Farda cannot independently verify the authenticity of this video. The released video does not provide any information about the fourth individual alleged to have participated in the attack. Tehran claims that all four attackers were killed by security forces, while Iranian media initially reported that one of the attackers was captured alive. The attack on Saturday during the military parade in Ahvaz left at least 24 dead and over 60 injured. A local group and ISIS simultaneously claimed responsibility for the attack. In the past 24 hours, Iranian officials have identified the group known as the 'Arab Liberation Movement of Ahvaz' as responsible for the attack. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces have threatened to deliver a 'crushing response' to the Saturday attack in Ahvaz, accusing certain regional countries. The funeral and burial ceremony for the victims of the deadly attacks in Ahvaz was held on Tuesday morning in the city, attended by some officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Mahmoud Alavi, the Minister of Intelligence, stated at the ceremony, without providing further details, that several individuals linked to this incident have been arrested. According to ISNA, Nozar Nemati, the Deputy Commander of the Army's Ground Forces, also referred to the Ahvaz incident on Tuesday, saying, 'All individuals involved in this incident have been identified and will certainly face a heavy punishment in due time.' Mohsen Rezaei, the Secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council, also stated at the funeral, without citing evidence, that this incident was planned outside of Iran's borders. He also dismissed the separation of Khuzestan from Iran as a dream. ISIS had previously claimed responsibility for the attack on the parliament and Khomeini's mausoleum last June, releasing a video of the assailants. Ten days after the Tehran attacks, the IRGC threatened countries they described as 'regional and trans-regional supporters of Takfiri terrorists,' announcing that they targeted a center in Syria, which they claimed was 'commanding and supporting Takfiri terrorists,' with missiles. The IRGC's missile attacks on Deir ez-Zor were reported to involve six missiles, and the IRGC deemed the operation 'successful,' although the Israeli newspaper 'Haaretz' reported, citing military officials, that only two of the missiles hit their intended targets. However, these attacks faced criticism, with France, Germany, Britain, and the United States pointing out that Iran's ballistic missile program and related tests, as well as missile launches into Syria, have posed a threat to regional stability.
