Islamic Republic Agents 'Identify and Arrest' 'Prince Serin'

The CEO of the Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the judiciary of the Islamic Republic, announced that Serin Curtis, a blogger who introduces herself on Instagram as 'Prince Serin', has been 'identified and arrested'. On Tuesday, April 6, Mehdi Kashtdar stated that Serin Curtis is a 'person who insults the sacred' and wrote on the social media platform 'X' that 'Prince Serin was identified by judicial agents in Alborz Province'. 'Prince Serin' had recently published videos of her presence in various areas of Alborz Province, which attracted the attention of users on social media. According to Mehdi Kashtdar, this blogger was 'introduced to prison after being informed of the charges' and 'was placed in custody for further investigations'. The CEO of the judiciary's news agency referred to Serin Curtis as a 'person who insults the sacred', noting that the charge of 'insulting the sacred' under the laws of the Islamic Republic could expose the arrested individual to the death penalty. For instance, in May of last year, Iranian judicial authorities executed Youssef Mehrad and Sadrollah Fazeli Zare, who managed several Telegram channels, on charges of 'insulting the Prophet' and 'apostasy'.
