Islamic Republic Claims: America Sends Weapons to Tel Aviv 'Around the Clock'

While the Islamic Republic's representative at the United Nations confirmed on February 7 that the Iranian government sends weapons to Palestinian groups, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated on March 8 in an interview with Lebanon's Al-Mayadeen TV that the U.S. sends weapons to Tel Aviv 'around the clock.' The Iranian Foreign Minister, whose speech on March 6 at the 55th session of the UN Human Rights Council faced widespread protests from human rights defenders, added: 'Israel failed to achieve any of its declared objectives in the Gaza war; it could not capture Mr. Sinwar, Hamas was not destroyed, Hamas was not disarmed, and Israeli captives were not identified and freed through war and bombing, while the U.S. fully supports Israel, and the intelligence and satellite images we receive show that all U.S. military bases and warships in the region continue to send weapons and military supplies to Tel Aviv around the clock.' He also stated: 'We have told some leaders of countries where the U.S. has bases that the territories of the region should not become a place for further arming Israel, as our assessment is that Netanyahu is seeking to escalate the war, but the point is that both the U.S. and Western countries seem to be facing a specific situation.' The Iranian Foreign Minister makes the claim of U.S. 'around-the-clock' military support for Israel while Amir Saeed Iravani, the Islamic Republic's representative at the United Nations, in an interview aired on NBC on February 6, stated: 'Iran has repeatedly stated its provision of weapons to Palestinian groups and regarding Palestine, I say that we send them weapons, train them, and empower them.' However, Iravani denied sending weapons from the Islamic Republic to the Houthis in Yemen, despite the U.S. and Western countries previously publishing undeniable evidence of the Houthis' use of Iranian-made weapons, including in their recent attacks in the Red Sea. Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, has also repeatedly acknowledged his government's military and financial assistance to Palestinian groups, stating: 'The Islamic Republic provides financial and military assistance to Palestinian groups and has no qualms about stating this and being straightforward about it.'
