Islamic Republic Forces' Shooting at Kolbars Leaves at Least 15 Injured

Armed forces of the Islamic Republic shot at Kurdish kolbars, injuring at least 15 of them. According to Kolbar News, this shooting occurred on Saturday evening, November 6, by border patrol officers in the Nosud border area. The injured kolbars are mainly from the cities of Thalas Babajani and Javanrud in Kermanshah province. Human rights organization Hengaw and Kolbar News identified one of the injured as 25-year-old Arman Salimi from Marivan, who was reportedly shot directly with a 'Tahrpar' type weapon. According to reports from human rights organizations in Iranian Kurdistan, the injured kolbars have been transferred to Quds Hospital in the city of Paveh and are currently receiving treatment. Kolbar News reported that 'some of the kolbars' injuries are severe and their physical condition is reported to be critical.' Kolbar News also published a report about the burning of kolbars' backpacks by border patrol officers in the 'Tehteh' heights of Hawraman, adding that the officers confiscated at least 70 kolbars' backpacks. Kolbari in Iran is considered a 'job' undertaken by some Kurdish citizens living in border areas, primarily due to the lack of job opportunities and unfavorable economic conditions. The Kolbar News website had previously reported that in the first six months of the year 1402, a total of 85 kolbars were killed or injured in border areas and inter-road routes of the provinces of West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, and Kermanshah. According to this report, of this number, 13 kolbars were killed and 72 were injured, with 77 of the 85 kolbars killed or injured due to direct gunfire from the Islamic Republic's military forces. An annual report by a collection of human rights activists in Iran for the year 1401 indicates that last year, the killing of 21 kolbars and the injury of 133 of them by border and police forces were recorded. In the past year, 28 other kolbars also suffered accidents due to climatic and geographical conditions such as frostbite and falls from heights, of which 26 were injured and 2 kolbars lost their lives. Human rights sources reported that one kolbar in Baneh was killed by military gunfire. Kolbari is on the brink of death; 85 kolbars were killed or injured in six months. Hengaw reported that a young Kurd was killed due to torture by police officers. One kolbar was killed by direct gunfire from border patrol forces in the Bastam border area. A Kurdish kolbar was killed by direct gunfire from the Revolutionary Guards. The bodies of two kolbars from Saqqez were discovered after 9 days; they had escaped from a 'wide ambush' by the Guards. A 19-year-old in Baneh was killed 'by the Guards.' Mohiuddin Ebrahimi, a jailed kolbar, was 'executed.' A kolbar at the Sardasht border was killed 'by the Guards' gunfire.
