Islamic Republic's Deadly Drone Displayed for UN Members

The American non-governmental organization "United Against Nuclear Iran" announced that on Monday, March 6, it will showcase the Shahed-136 drone, described as "the deadliest terrorist weapon in the world," in New York for United Nations members and the media. This organization recently transferred the downed drone, which was involved in Russia's attack on Ukraine, to the U.S. in collaboration with Poland and Ukraine. The organization has invited the media to closely observe this drone, which has been produced by entities affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Ministry of Defense. The U.S. has designated the IRGC as a terrorist organization, and both the IRGC and the Iranian Ministry of Defense are under the most severe U.S. and international sanctions. The organization's statement mentions that the Islamic Republic of Iran and its affiliated groups have used the Shahed drone to attack various targets worldwide. It states that this drone has been used multiple times against U.S. forces in the Middle East and is the same weapon that targeted the U.S. Tower 22 base in Jordan, an attack that resulted in the deaths of three American soldiers and injuries to 47 others. Additionally, the Islamic Republic has used this drone in attacks against Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Ukraine. Mark Wallace, CEO of "United Against Nuclear Iran," said, "By showcasing the main killing machine of the Islamic Republic of Iran, namely the Shahed-136, in New York, we will reveal the true face of this regime and its determination to arm and spread terrorism." He added that this weapon is "a modern version of the V1 flying bomb" used by the Nazis in World War II. Previously, "United Against Nuclear Iran" displayed this drone at the 2025 Republican National Committee event known as CPAC in Washington. Observers say the main feature of this drone is its low production cost compared to some missiles used to destroy it.
