Israel: A Powerful Bomb and 4 Rocket Manufacturing Facilities Discovered and Destroyed in Gaza Strip

Israel claims that its military discovered and destroyed a powerful bomb and four rocket manufacturing facilities in the central Gaza Strip last night. According to officials, the bomb was found in the office of the Fatah movement led by Yasser Arafat in the city of Deir al-Balah. Israeli soldiers also demolished four rocket factories where rocket launchers and grenades were being manufactured. Two Palestinian suspects were arrested. Earlier, Israeli soldiers had detained one of the leaders of the Islamic Jihad militant organization. Israel has implemented strict security measures in Palestinian areas during the celebration of the Hebrew New Year, which began at sunset on Friday. In another report, Israeli forces attacked an area in central Gaza in Deir al-Balah. This attack occurred while security measures were heightened for the Jewish New Year holidays. According to a spokesperson for the Palestinian security forces, an Israeli infantry unit, supported by tanks, entered the area on Friday evening. Israeli soldiers searched houses and took control of several rooftops. Reports indicate that a hardliner member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad was also arrested. Meanwhile, a curfew has been imposed in most areas of the West Bank, and Palestinian travel has been banned as part of Israel's increased security measures. Israeli officials also stated that due to the ongoing threat from extremists, the withdrawal of soldiers from Palestinian territories will not be immediate.
