Israel: Hamas Uses Ambulances to Transport Weapons and Fighters

The Israeli army and Shin Bet released a phone call that provides evidence of Hamas using ambulances to transport weapons and fighters. In this call, a Hamas operative tells a man in Gaza that he can use any ambulance he wants to leave Gaza. The army also published quotes from interrogations of several Hamas members who participated in the October 7 attack on Israel and were arrested. One Hamas member stated that the militant group has its own ambulances, some of which are located in military bases. He said that the ambulances resemble civilian ambulances to avoid suspicion and bombing by Israel. Another Hamas member mentioned that during the war, ambulances are used to evacuate fighters, commanders, and operational agents. He also said that ambulances are used to transport food, cargo, and weapons as it is the safest way to transport them. The army stated that this evidence shows that Hamas is using ambulances as a war tool, which it claims is a violation of international law. Most senior political and military officials of Hamas have taken refuge in hospitals, especially Shifa Hospital, exploiting them to avoid bombing. Israel claims that Hamas stores weapons and ammunition under schools. Many areas of Gaza are booby-trapped, while cables leading to platforms are located in mosques and civilian clinics.
