Israel: Hezbollah Has Hidden Half a Billion Dollars in 'Gold and Cash' Under a Hospital in Beirut

Daniel Hagari, spokesman for the Israeli army, announced on Monday that at least half a billion dollars in cash and gold, provided by the Iranian government to Hezbollah, is stored in one of Hassan Nasrallah's shelters beneath the 'Al-Sahil' hospital in the heart of Beirut. Hagari emphasized that Hezbollah deliberately constructed this shelter under a hospital and that this money could have been, and still can be, used for the reconstruction of Lebanon. The Israeli army spokesman stated that the Iranian government supports this group through oil and cash transfers by the Quds Force to Syria, direct cash transfers by plane to Lebanon, and support for Hezbollah's economic projects, including gas exports and establishing factories in some regional countries. He confirmed that attacks on Hezbollah's financial positions across Lebanon will continue. He also confirmed the Israeli deadly attack on a financial arm of Hezbollah in Syria on Monday, stating that the individual was responsible for transferring cash from Iran to Hezbollah. Hagari did not name this Hezbollah member but mentioned that he was appointed to this position following the killing of the previous head of this Hezbollah arm weeks ago. Since the terrorist attack on October 7, Hezbollah has unilaterally begun its rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel as the main proxy arm of the Islamic Republic. In response, Israel has carried out severe attacks against this group's positions in Lebanon and Syria, killing hundreds of members of this Iran-supported group, including its leader and senior military commanders such as Hassan Nasrallah, Foad Shakir, Ibrahim Aqil, and Hashem Safi al-Din. Several countries, including the United States, Israel, Germany, Serbia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Australia, have recognized Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. The identification of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization means that there is no distinction between its political and military branches, labeling both as terrorist entities. Axios reported that Israel's demands for ending the Lebanon war were presented to the White House. Gallant stated that Hezbollah is 'on the verge of collapse.' With the Israeli airstrike on Hezbollah's 'intelligence headquarters' in Beirut, 'Abbas Salim' and two other commanders were killed. Gallant, in a conversation with Austin, stated that the goal of Israeli attacks is to weaken Hezbollah's military infrastructure and prevent missile attacks. Netanyahu called his assassination plot a 'big mistake,' asserting a determination to 'change the security reality' in the Middle East. An Israeli general stated that the Iranian government does not know what will happen to Hezbollah.
