Israel is Producing Missiles That Can Target the Entire Middle East

Avigdor Lieberman, Israel's Defense Minister, stated on Monday, September 5, that the country is developing a new missile system capable of targeting all points in the Middle East. Lieberman added that Israel's state-owned arms industry will complete an integrated missile system in the coming years that can achieve very precise targeting from long distances. According to him, the budget for this military program is several hundred million dollars. In another part of his statement, the Defense Minister noted, 'The plan to produce a missile system with very precise targeting has begun. Part of this system is currently in the production phase, while another part is in the research and final design phase.' 'We are producing and achieving a very precise missile system that the Israeli armed forces will be able to use in the coming years to cover all points in the region.' Israel is considered the military power in the region and the only country with nuclear weapons in the Middle East. Foreign military experts say Israel has several ballistic missile systems of the Jericho model, which can carry nuclear warheads. In 2004, Israel's state arms industry announced that it had produced a cruise missile named 'Delilah' with a range of about 250 kilometers. Israel also possesses several anti-missile systems. In the statement on Monday, the CEO of Israel's state arms industry stated that 'the new weapon system reflects the capabilities of this company and its special expertise in precise targeting and attacking multiple ground targets.' Israel claims to face multiple threats and considers Iran its most dangerous enemy in the region. Israeli territory is frequently targeted by mortars and missiles from the Gaza Strip, which is controlled by Hamas. Another enemy of Israel is Hezbollah in Lebanon, a Shiite group supported by Iran. Israel also shares a border with Syria. In the Syrian civil war, Hezbollah and Iranian-backed Shiite militias are fighting alongside government forces. Benjamin Netanyahu has promised to prevent the consolidation of Iranian military presence in Syrian territory, and a series of attacks in Syria that resulted in the deaths of Iranian forces have been attributed to Israel.
