Israel Issues New Warning to Hezbollah; Gallant: We Know How to Fight if Reality Demands It

Hezbollah confirmed the death of one of its senior field commanders named Mohammad Nasser in an Israeli attack on Wednesday. The organization announced that in response to this attack, it fired a hundred rockets towards Israel. According to AFP, Mohammad Nasser is the third senior commander of Hezbollah to be killed in the past nine months of conflict. Following the rocket attacks on northern Israel, which began after Hamas's attack on southern Israel on October 7, Hezbollah has lost hundreds of its forces. Yoav Gallant, Israel's Defense Minister, stated on the same day: "We are hitting Hezbollah hard every day and are fully prepared to take any necessary actions in Lebanon or to reach an agreement from a position of strength." He added that Israel prefers to reach a mechanism but "if reality demands it, we know how to fight." The Israeli army did not comment following the news of the Hezbollah commander's death. Meanwhile, no group has claimed responsibility for a knife attack at a commercial center in northern Israel that resulted in one death and another injury on Wednesday. However, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad described the attack as a "heroic operation" on Telegram. The Israeli website Walla reported that the attacker was from the Arab community in Israel. On the other hand, the Israeli Ministry of Finance and the Palestinian Authority announced on Wednesday that Israel transferred 435 million shekels (116 million dollars) in tax revenues to the Palestinian Authority. This is the first transfer of this kind since April. Israel collects taxes on goods entering the West Bank through Israel and transfers this revenue to Ramallah under a long-standing mechanism agreed upon by both parties.
