The Israeli military said Wednesday it identified missiles launched from Iran as the military conflict between the two rivals continued to widen, Anadolu reports.
In a statement, the army said missiles were launched from Iran toward Israel, with air defenses working to intercept them.
Incoming missile sirens sounded across central Israel, according to the daily Yedioth Ahronoth.
There were no immediate reports of casualties following the missile launches.
Regional escalation has flared since Feb. 28 when Israel and the US launched a joint attack against Iran, killing more than 1,200 people and injuring another 10,000, according to Iranian authorities.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that are home to US military assets.
