Israel Shoots Down 'Missile and Drone' Launched by Iranian-Backed Houthis

The Israeli army reported intercepting and destroying a missile and a drone fired by Iranian-backed Houthis on Friday, January 14. The Houthis claimed responsibility for both attacks, asserting that they targeted a power plant and a military base near Tel Aviv. The Israeli army stated that while it intercepted and destroyed the missile over Israeli airspace, debris fell in the 'Modiin' area in central Israel, and details of the incident are under investigation. The missile attack triggered warning sirens in central Israel. In this context, the Israeli emergency medical agency announced that several Israeli citizens were injured or frightened due to the Houthi attack. The drone launched by the Houthis was intercepted and destroyed before entering Israeli airspace. On Tuesday, Israel also intercepted and destroyed a missile fired by the Houthis.
