Israel: Sirens Sounded on Northern Border

On Saturday, April 13, the Israeli army announced on its social media that following the sounding of warning sirens in the Hanita area in northern Israel, three projectiles fired from Lebanon fell in open areas. The Israeli army stated that approximately 40 projectiles had been launched from Lebanon towards northern Israel, with some intercepted and others landing in open areas. In another statement, the Israeli army reported that in a drone attack early Saturday in the Hanita area, a reserve soldier of the Israeli army, who was a member of a security team for a settlement, was severely injured. According to the report, two explosive drones belonging to Hezbollah that were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israel exploded in the Hanita area. Earlier, the Israeli army had announced that on Saturday morning, it targeted a 'large military compound' used by Hezbollah militants in 'Al-Rihani' in southern Lebanon with an airstrike. The Israeli army also released a video of its airstrikes showing two visible explosions. In recent days, clashes between the Hezbollah group, which is supported by the Islamic Republic, and the Israeli army have intensified. This comes amid growing speculation in recent days and hours about a retaliatory attack by the Islamic Republic against Israel. During the attack attributed to Israel on the Islamic Republic's consulate in Damascus on April 1, several senior commanders and members of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed. Since then, the leader and other officials of the Islamic Republic have threatened retaliatory attacks against Israel. An Israeli army spokesman stated that the country is on high alert. Daniel Hagari said, 'We have increased our readiness to protect Israel against further aggressions from the Islamic Republic and are prepared to respond.'
