Israel Warns Elon Musk About Internet Services in Gaza: Hamas is ISIS

Israel's Minister of Communications warned Elon Musk that all means will be used to prevent communication and internet services in the Gaza Strip, and that relations with Starlink will be cut until Hamas releases all hostages. Shlomi Karai wrote on his X account hours after Musk, the owner of SpaceX and the social media platform X, stated that Starlink supports communication links in Gaza through 'recognized international relief organizations.' He stated that Israel will not allow Hamas to use communication services for 'terrorist activities' using all its leverage. He wrote: 'There is no doubt, and we know, and Musk knows that Hamas is ISIS. Perhaps Musk would like to condition the provision of communication services on the release of our infants, boys, girls, and the elderly. Until then, my office will cut all its relations with Starlink.' On Saturday, Elon Musk stated that SpaceX's Starlink supports communication links in Gaza through 'recognized international relief organizations.' In response to a user on X who said, 'These people (in Gaza) are suffering and cannot inform the world about what is happening to them,' he said, 'No terminal has requested a connection to Starlink. SpaceX supports communication links with international aid organizations.' As the Israeli army expands its ground operations in the Gaza Strip, global sources report a severe slowdown or complete internet outage in Gaza due to the destruction of communication networks following bombings. CNN reported that according to analysis from the internet monitoring network 'NetBlocks,' internet connectivity in Gaza on October 27 reached its lowest point since the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7. According to this report citing 'NetBlocks' information, the international connection routes of Gaza's main internet operator, 'Paltel,' have been destroyed due to bombings, and many Palestinians are unable to access the internet and establish electronic communication. The American magazine 'Wired,' focusing on technology, culture, and economics, wrote in an article titled 'The Destruction of Gaza's Internet is Complete': 'For more than three weeks, Gaza has faced almost complete internet outages. Cables, telecommunications towers, and the infrastructure needed for online communications have been damaged or destroyed, as Israel targeted Gaza with thousands of missiles in response to Hamas's attack on Israel and the hostage-taking of hundreds on October 7.
