Israel Warns the Islamic Republic: We Are Ready to Attack at 'Any Time and Place'

The commander of the Israeli army once again warned the Islamic Republic and its proxy forces about the consequences of 'further attacks on Israel.' Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, warned on Wednesday, December 26, during a graduation ceremony for Israeli pilots, that the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies, as well as the entire Middle East, must know that 'whoever seeks to undermine the stability and security of the State of Israel, the Israeli army will stand firm against them and is ready to attack at any time and place.' Halevi also considered the return of the remaining 100 hostages held by Hamas in Gaza as an 'urgent moral duty' of Israel and emphasized that the army will take all necessary actions to ensure their return home. The Israeli government previously rejected claims by the Palestinian militant group Hamas regarding Israel's attempts to delay the release of hostages and ceasefire agreements in the Gaza Strip, accusing Hamas of creating 'new obstacles' to reaching an agreement. In a statement released by the office of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, on Wednesday, December 26, it was stated: 'The terrorist organization Hamas is lying again, deviating from the agreements that have been reached so far, and continuing to create new obstacles in the path of negotiations.' During the terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023, more than 1,200 residents, mostly civilians, were killed, and over 250 others, including women, children, and the elderly, were taken hostage. In response to this attack, Israel launched an offensive on Gaza aimed at destroying Hamas and recovering the kidnapped hostages. Reports indicate that the Gaza war, which began with the terrorist attack by Hamas on Israeli citizens, has so far resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands and the displacement of residents in the region. While about 100 hostages were exchanged for Palestinian prisoners during a temporary ceasefire late last fall, around 100 remain in captivity with Hamas, and reports suggest that some of them have been killed. The Israeli Defense Minister stated that a similar fate awaits the Houthis as that of Hamas and Hezbollah.
