Israel: We Targeted Hezbollah Positions with 'Three Rounds' of Airstrikes

On Friday, November 25, the Israeli army conducted three rounds of airstrikes against Hezbollah positions in the Dahiyeh area of Beirut. According to a statement from the Israeli army, one of the targets attacked in Dahiyeh was a Hezbollah command center. The Hebrew-language account of the Israeli army also published images of the airstrikes by Israeli fighter jets on Hezbollah targets in Dahiyeh. The Israeli army once again accused Hezbollah of systematically placing its infrastructure in civilian areas. Before the attacks on Friday, the Israeli army sent a warning message to the residents of Dahiyeh, asking them to leave the area. According to the Israeli army, in these attacks on Hezbollah positions, a rocket warehouse and 15 launchers of this Iranian proxy group in southern Lebanon were destroyed. The Israeli attacks on Beirut coincided with the presence of Ali Larijani, an advisor to Ali Khamenei, in the city for meetings with senior Lebanese officials. One day earlier, on Thursday, coinciding with Larijani's presence in Damascus, Israel also targeted the headquarters of Iranian proxy organizations and groups in the Syrian capital. Hezbollah Lebanon unilaterally began its rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel the day after the terrorist attack on October 7, 2023. In response, Israel has conducted severe attacks against this group's positions in Lebanon and Syria, killing hundreds of members of this major proxy arm of the Iranian government in the region, including its leader and senior military commanders such as Hassan Nasrallah, Foad Shukr, Ibrahim Aqil, and Hashem Safieddin. Simultaneously with heavy airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the Bekaa Valley, Israel has also deployed its ground forces to parts of southern Lebanon, resulting in over 1.2 million Lebanese being displaced due to these conflicts. Several countries, including the United States, Israel, Germany, Serbia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Australia, have recognized Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. Israel states that the battle with Hezbollah will continue. The U.S. has proposed a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel. Samir Geagea: Hezbollah should lay down its weapons as soon as possible.
