Israeli Airstrike on Aleppo Suburbs; Two Security Sources Tell Reuters: 38 Killed

The official Syrian news agency, SANA, reported that following an Israeli airstrike early Friday morning, April 10, on areas surrounding the city of Aleppo, several Syrian civilians and military personnel were killed and wounded. A Syrian military source, without mentioning the number of military personnel killed, told SANA that two civilians were killed in the attacks that occurred at 1:45 AM. In this regard, Reuters reported on Friday, citing two security sources, that following the Israeli attacks on the city of Aleppo in northern Syria, 38 people were killed, including five members of the armed group Hezbollah from Lebanon. So far, Israel has not claimed responsibility for this attack. Earlier, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Thursday, April 9, that one officer of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps died from injuries sustained in the Israeli attack on the city of Deir ez-Zor on Tuesday, April 7. According to the website of this organization, which is based in London, the death toll from this attack has now risen to 19. This IRGC colonel was responsible for the communication center that was targeted in the attack. The Observatory also reported that in the Israeli attack, 31 people were injured, including 21 militants supported by the Islamic Republic and 10 civilians. The official Syrian news agency, SANA, also reported that as a result of what it called the "aggression of the Israeli occupying regime" on one of the buildings in the suburbs of Damascus, two civilians were injured. According to this report, this attack occurred on Thursday evening. The killing of additional IRGC members in the attack on Syria was discussed with Shahram Khaldi. The attack attributed to Israel against the Islamic Republic's proxies in Syria resulted in the death of one IRGC member. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that five "Syrian Hezbollah militants" were injured in the Israeli attack on the suburbs of Damascus. The Pentagon rejected reports from Syrian and Iranian media about a U.S. airstrike in eastern Syria.
