Israeli Airstrike on Islamic Jihad Targets in Damascus

Israeli media reported on Thursday, March 14, that the country's air force targeted the Islamic Jihad terrorist group in Damascus, the capital of Syria. Earlier, the Israeli army announced on Tuesday, March 12, that its warplanes had attacked dozens of military targets in southern Syria on Monday, March 11. According to the report, Israeli aircraft struck radars and reconnaissance equipment used for aerial intelligence gathering, as well as military headquarters and bases that included weapons and military equipment of the Syrian army. In this context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, based in London, reported on Tuesday that Israeli planes carried out several airstrikes on 'military positions of the former regime' in Syria. According to this report, Israel conducted 9 airstrikes on the 89th artillery regiment and 8 airstrikes on the 12th brigade in the outskirts of Daraa. In recent years, Israel has repeatedly attacked military positions of the Syrian army and Iranian proxy militias in Syria. Meanwhile, the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday that the country had sent about 10,000 food packages, including oil, salt, flour, sugar, rice, and other essential food items, to Druze areas in Syria in recent weeks. According to the 'Israel Times', Israeli Foreign Minister Gidon Saar stated that the food aid was sent as part of an agreement between minority communities in the Middle East. The report noted that a large portion of the food aid was sent to an area 75 kilometers from the Israeli border.
