Israeli Army: '150 Terrorists' Killed in Gaza City Last Week

On Saturday, July 30, the Israeli army announced that over '150 terrorists' were killed in Gaza City last week and more than 100 locations used by Hamas were destroyed. One of the sites targeted by Israeli soldiers was the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), where the army claimed Hamas members were hiding. The Israeli army also added that some other Hamas members were hiding in multi-story residential buildings among civilians. Previously, Israel had repeatedly accused the Hamas militant group of using civilians as human shields. The war in Gaza continues as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Friday that negotiations between Israel and Hamas for a ceasefire and the return of hostages are nearing completion. Blinken, speaking at the annual Aspen Security Forum, stated that if an agreement is reached, a ceasefire will be established, hostages will return to Israel, and a better path for achieving stability and lasting peace will be created. The war between Israel and Hamas began on October 7 (15 Mehr) of last year when militants from the group, supported by the Islamic Republic and its allies, attacked southern Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking about 250 hostages. Approximately 120 hostages remain in the custody of Hamas in Gaza, and the group has not released any news or information regarding their status. Israel, the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Canada consider Hamas a terrorist organization. Israeli media: Gallant issues a public statement to pressure Netanyahu to accept the agreement. Israel called for 'crippling sanctions' against the Islamic Republic in response to the Houthi drone attack. The Israeli parliament opposed a symbolic resolution to establish an 'independent Palestinian state.' The Israeli Defense Minister stated that military operations in Gaza have paved the way for an agreement regarding hostages.
