Israeli Army Announces Release of Two Hamas Hostages; They Were Freed During Military Operation in Rafah

The Israeli army announced that following a raid early Monday morning in the Rafah area of southern Gaza, two Israeli male hostages have been rescued from Hamas captivity. Palestinian militants from Hamas, supported by the Iranian government, killed 1,200 people and took over 240 others hostage during their attack on southern Israel on October 7. About 100 of these hostages were exchanged during a two-week ceasefire in December for convicted Palestinian prisoners in Israel, but over 130 others remain in Hamas captivity.
