Israeli Army Announces Targeting of 15 Hezbollah Rocket Launchers in Lebanon

The Israeli army announced that it has targeted 15 rocket launchers belonging to the Hezbollah group in Lebanon. Lebanese media reported on Friday evening, September 6, videos of Israeli airstrikes on areas near the towns of Kafr Sir and Farwon in the Nabatieh province in southern Lebanon. Following this, the Israeli army confirmed the attacks and released images stating that more than 15 launchers and sites belonging to Hezbollah, some of which were prepared to fire towards Israel, were targeted. According to the Israeli army, several rockets were fired from the launchers as a result of these attacks and landed in Lebanese territory. Meanwhile, Herzi Halevi, the commander of the Israeli army, stated on Friday during a visit to the Golan Heights that his forces are 'very focused' on combating Hezbollah and countering aggressive preparations in Lebanon. He described the number of Israeli attacks against Hezbollah positions in the past month, the deaths of members of this group affiliated with the Islamic Republic, and the destruction of its missiles as 'very high.' Since the beginning of the Gaza war, Israel and Hezbollah have engaged in daily fire in areas close to the border, and in several instances, targets deep within Lebanon have also been struck. Tensions between the two sides escalated with the killing of Fuad Shukr, the highest-ranking military commander of Hezbollah, by Israel, and on the morning of September 4, Israel announced a widespread 'preemptive attack' on southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah claimed to have launched 'hundreds of rockets and drones' towards Israel.
