Israeli Army Attacks 400 Targets in Gaza

On Tuesday, November 2, an Israeli army spokesperson announced that on Monday, November 1, the army attacked over 400 military targets in the Gaza Strip, killing several "commanders of the terrorist group Hamas." Daniel Hagari wrote on the messaging platform 'X' that Israeli warplanes targeted dozens of Hamas infrastructure and militant gathering places in the neighborhoods of Sajaiya, Shati, Jabalia, Daraj Tuffah, and Zeitoun. Earlier, the Israeli army had reported that "Ibrahim al-Hisar, head of Hamas's anti-tank system," was killed in the attack on Monday. This is the latest in a series of senior Hamas military officials that the Israeli army claims to have killed. Prior to this, Israel had stated on Sunday that the deputy commander of Hamas's rocket force was killed following the army's attacks. Hamas has confirmed the deaths of its commanders with a delay. Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported, citing "survivors" of Israel's nighttime air operations in Khan Younis, that following the attack on "a four-story residential building in this city, at least 32 people were killed and many others injured." In this context, the Hamas group, which controls Gaza, claims that at least 5,000 people, most of whom are civilians, have been killed due to Israeli attacks. Israel states that the aim of its attacks is to eliminate military targets of Hamas and other militant groups, noting that these groups use civilians as human shields. Images of Hamas attacks on Israeli civilians were displayed; Khaled Meshaal stated that civilians were not the target. Biden stated that any discussion of a ceasefire in Gaza could only happen after the release of hostages. Gallant announced Israel's full readiness for "a multi-domain operation in air, land, and sea."
