Israeli Army Claims to Have Discovered 'Weapons and Tunnels' in Yahya Sinwar's Vacation Home

The Israeli army reports that its forces raided the offices of the Hamas commander in Khan Younis and the vacation homes of several senior Hamas commanders, including Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza. According to the Times of Israel, Colonel Elad Tzuri, commander of the 7th Armored Brigade, stated that his forces are also engaged in clashes with Hamas in the Khan Younis area. He mentioned that the brigade has reached a main field in the outskirts of Khan Younis. The Israeli army stated in a statement that during the ongoing operation, the armored brigade killed 'many terrorists,' including some who were targeted by tank shells. The Israeli army added that forces also discovered approximately 30 tunnel shafts, attacked dozens of anti-tank rocket launch sites and observation posts, and seized weapons and intelligence materials from Hamas operatives. Colonel Tzuri noted that weapons were found in the vacation homes of senior Hamas officials and said, 'We see a large number of tunnel shafts here; we are still facing the enemy but are gaining operational control of the area.' The Israeli army claims that, along with the offices of the Khan Younis battalion commander and the vacation homes of senior Hamas commanders, its forces attacked a post belonging to the Deir al-Balah battalion of Hamas and obtained intelligence materials. Following Hamas's attack on October 7, which killed around 1,200 people and took about 240 hostages, the Israeli army began its assault on Gaza with the aim of eliminating Hamas in the region. Hamas, which is supported by the Islamic Republic, is recognized as a terrorist group by several countries, including the United States.
