Israeli Army: Dozens of 'Terrorists' Arrested in Nasser Hospital; Attacks on Positions in Lebanon and Syria

The Israeli army reported the arrest of at least 100 'terrorists', including 20 Palestinians involved in the terrorist attack on October 7, stating that these individuals were hiding in Nasser Hospital. The Israeli army also mentioned that it targeted positions within Lebanon and Syria. Avichai Adraee, the Arabic-speaking spokesperson for the Israeli army, said on Saturday that the infrastructure and military buildings of Hezbollah near the Israel-Lebanon border were targeted. Israeli media, citing Lebanese sources, reported that Hezbollah fired two anti-tank missiles at an Israeli military base in northern Israel on Saturday. Following Hezbollah's attack on Israel on Wednesday, which resulted in the death of an Israeli soldier, Israel conducted attacks on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, killing several members of this Iranian proxy group. In the early hours of Saturday, in response to rocket fire from Syrian territory, Israel targeted a Syrian army weapons depot in Majdal Shams located in the Golan Heights. The number of rocket attacks from Syrian territory into Israel has increased following the October 7 terrorist attack and heightened tensions along Israel's northern borders. The Persian account of the Israeli Foreign Ministry also released images of munitions and weapons such as grenades and mortars. In another report, Israeli soldiers were seen delivering water and food to Nasser Hospital. They also reported repairing the hospital's generator and bringing an additional replacement generator. Ismail Haniyeh, a leader of Hamas, claimed on Saturday that Israel is responsible for the lack of progress in negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza. He claimed that this Iran-backed group has always responded positively to mediators' requests without mentioning the ongoing hostage-taking of Israeli citizens by Hamas. Haniyeh's claim comes as during the last round of temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which resulted in the release of 40 hostages and 120 Palestinian prisoners, Hamas and Islamic Jihad continued to launch rockets and carry out terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens. While Haniyeh conditioned the establishment of a ceasefire on the complete withdrawal of Israeli soldiers from Gaza, Israeli officials have repeatedly stated that the release of all hostages and the end of Hamas's control over the Gaza Strip must be achieved to prevent attacks similar to the October 7 terrorist attack.
