Israeli Army Reports Continuation of 'Operational Activities' Across Gaza Strip

On Wednesday, August 31, the Israeli army announced via a statement on the messaging platform Telegram that it would continue its operational activities throughout the Gaza Strip. The statement indicated that the Israeli Air Force conducted a precise strike on an arms depot in Gaza, which was located near a Hamas command and control center within a complex that had previously operated as the 'Salah al-Din' school in Gaza City. According to the Israeli army, Hamas was storing rockets and other weaponry intended for attacks on Israel at this site. The statement further noted that Israeli forces killed over 50 terrorists and destroyed 'terrorist infrastructures' in the Tel al-Sultan area of Rafah over the past day. Based on precise intelligence indicating the presence of terrorist infrastructures and Hamas militants in the Khan Younis area and the outskirts of Deir al-Balah, Israeli forces intensified their operational activities in this region. The Israeli army reported that its forces destroyed dozens of infrastructural sites and killed several terrorists in the area. The Israeli Air Force also eliminated several terrorist cells and destroyed a structure filled with explosives that posed a threat to Israeli forces. During the October 15 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, over 1,200 Israeli citizens, including women, children, and the elderly, were killed, and more than 250 others were taken hostage. Following this terrorist attack, Israel launched an offensive on Gaza aimed at destroying Hamas and recovering hostages taken by Hamas. Approximately ten months after the October 15 attack, a total of 109 hostages have been freed from Hamas captivity, and according to Israeli estimates, 116 other hostages remain in Gaza, with 48 of them having lost their lives. Hamas is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Israel, Canada, Japan, and several other countries. The resigned head of Israeli military intelligence took 'responsibility for the failure' to prevent last year's Hamas attack. The Israeli army also attacked Hezbollah positions in ten areas in southern Lebanon. Hamas and Islamic Jihad blamed Israel for the failure of ceasefire negotiations in Gaza. One day after Blinken's return from the Middle East, Biden and Netanyahu spoke by phone. The Israeli Foreign Minister stated that the international community should declare the IRGC as the largest terrorist organization in the world.
