Israeli Army Reports the Death of Another Senior Hamas Commander

On Tuesday, November 9, the spokesperson for the Israeli army announced the death of 'Naseem Abu Ajina', the commander of the Beit Lahiya Brigade, a senior commander of the Hamas militant group, by sharing a video on the social media platform X. Daniel Hagari wrote that Israeli fighter jets killed Abu Ajina on the night of November 8 during an operation. According to him, this commander played a role in Hamas's attacks on Israel on October 7, where militants killed over 1,400 people, most of whom were civilians. Following this, Israel besieged the Gaza Strip and began attacks on the area. Hamas officials, who control Gaza, claim that over 8,300 people have been killed as a result of these attacks, most of whom are civilians. News agencies have reported that they cannot verify these figures. In contrast, Israel states that its attacks target Hamas objectives and accuses the group of using civilians as human shields. Meanwhile, the Gaza war continues despite calls for a ceasefire or cessation of hostilities. In this context, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote in an article for the Wall Street Journal, addressing 'civilized' countries, that 'this is not just Israel's war; if Hamas and the Islamic Republic win, you will be their next target. But we will prevail.' Netanyahu described the current war as a 'clash of civilizations' and labeled the Islamic Republic and Hamas as the 'axis of terror.' The UN relief agency stated that an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza has become a matter of life and death, as Israel advances in Gaza to 'destroy Hamas' and recover hostages.
