No reports of injuries or potential damage from the Iranian attack have been released, and the rockets did not hit anywhere in Israel.' The Israeli army stated that the attack on the Golan Heights is 'another sign of Iran's intention to expand its presence in Syria and the threats arising from it against Israel and regional stability.' The statement continued that the Israeli army 'will not allow the Iranian threat to take root in Syria. The Syrian government is responsible for any incident that occurs on its territory.' The Syrian government also claimed that it intercepted and destroyed some of the Israeli missiles. Tensions between Israel and Iran in Syria have escalated in recent months. Iran and Hezbollah, which is supported by Tehran, are assisting Bashar al-Assad's government in the country's civil war. Russia is another supporter of Assad in this civil war.
