Israeli Defense Minister: Coordinated Aid with the US Accelerates Hamas's Collapse

Yoav Gallant, the Israeli Defense Minister, during a visit to the Gaza coast, stated that the aid programs provided to the Gaza Strip through a temporary port established by the United States "contributes to the collapse of Hamas's governance." According to the Times of Israel, Gallant said, "This process is designed to deliver direct aid to the residents and consequently continue the collapse of Hamas's governance in Gaza." He mentioned that Israel brings aid through a maritime route that is coordinated with the United States for security and humanitarian purposes. He noted that the transfer of these goods is civilian cooperation with the UAE and is inspected in Cyprus, with Israel transferring these goods with the help of international organizations and the United States. He stated, "We ensure that supplies reach those who need them and not those who do not need them." The Times of Israel reported on Sunday, March 10, citing two Egyptian security sources, that Cairo is in contact with senior Hamas and Israeli officials, as well as other mediators, in an effort to resume ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip during Ramadan. These sources, without providing further details, said that Egypt's contacts with the Israeli intelligence and special operations agency (Mossad) and Hamas are following the Egyptian presidential directive to bring the differing positions of the two sides closer together. The Israeli army conducted exercises in preparation for a "potential war" in southern Lebanon. Reports: Egypt is working to resume ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and Israel.
