Israeli Defense Minister: Hamas Has Lost Control of Gaza

Yoav Gallant, the Israeli Defense Minister, announced on Monday, November 13, that Hamas has lost control of Gaza. According to him, "Hamas has lost control of Gaza. The terrorists are fleeing south. Civilians are looting Hamas bases. They no longer trust the Hamas government." The Israeli Defense Minister added that Hamas is in no way capable of stopping the advances of his country's army, which is progressing in all areas. Meanwhile, Benny Gantz, former Israeli Defense Minister and a member of the current security cabinet, posted a picture on his X account of Israeli soldiers in what has been referred to as the "Hamas Parliament" in Gaza. At the same time, the Israeli army on Monday demanded that Hamas surrender its bases inside and beneath the Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip. In recent days, intense clashes have been ongoing between Israeli army forces and Hamas militants around this hospital, where hospitalized patients are struggling with resource shortages. Following Hamas's deadly attack on October 7, which resulted in the deaths of 1,400 people and the abduction of about 250 others, Israel declared war against Hamas with the aim of destroying it. The war between Israel and Hamas began 38 days ago, and the Israeli army has been conducting ground operations in northern Gaza for about two weeks. Evidence has emerged of Hamas's misuse of civilian centers; the "Rantisi" hospital has been identified as a base for "terrorists" and a holding place for hostages. Israel shut down the office of the "Al-Mayadeen" network affiliated with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Statistical data from the Israeli army indicates a "significant decrease" in missile attack warnings since the start of the war. The Israeli Defense Minister stated that the only way to help bring back Israeli hostages is through military pressure. Israel reported sending 300 liters of fuel to the Shifa Hospital, which Hamas reportedly took. Netanyahu stated that Hamas rejected Israel's request to provide fuel to the Shifa Hospital.
