Israeli Fighters Attack Hezbollah Buildings in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli army stated that its fighters attacked several buildings used by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon on Sunday. The Hezbollah militant group also fired several missiles and rockets into northern Israel on the same day, one of which hit a previously evacuated border area. The Times of Israel reported that there were no casualties from Hezbollah's attacks, and the Israeli army claimed to have shelled the launch sites from Lebanon with artillery. The group known as the 'Syrian Observatory for Human Rights' also reported on Sunday that five militants affiliated with the Iranian government were killed in a drone attack in Albu Kamal, near the Iraqi border. Middle Eastern countries have been concerned for some time about a potential large-scale attack by the Islamic Republic and its proxy groups like Hezbollah against Israel and the escalation of war. These concerns have arisen following threats from Iranian officials in response to the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas leader, in Tehran. Israel has neither confirmed nor denied involvement in Haniyeh's killing, although Hamas had promised to kill him after the October 7 attack. Opponents of the Islamic Republic have expressed significant dissatisfaction with the Iranian government's spending of substantial resources to support militant and terrorist groups in the region. Tensions in the Middle East have led several foreign airlines to cancel flights to Tel Aviv.
