Israeli Foreign Minister in European Parliament: The Islamic Republic is Behind Attacks on Israel

Eli Cohen, the Israeli Foreign Minister, stated in a speech at the European Parliament in Brussels that the Islamic Republic of Iran is leading the ongoing attacks on Israel to prevent the normalization of relations between countries and peace in the region. According to AFP, Cohen said, "We must win this war to ensure that the West will not be the next target, as terrorism is like a cancer." He mentioned that Hamas has used international aid to build tunnels and rocket production workshops, allowing Palestinians to "starve." Cohen noted that it is not only Hamas and Islamic Jihad that are attacking Israel, but also "Hezbollah from the northern border and the Houthis from Yemen are attacking us." The Israeli Foreign Minister stated, "There is one factor that connects them: Iran." According to Cohen, the Islamic Republic of Iran is the number one financier of terrorism in the world. The Islamic Republic claims it has no proxy groups, but experts refute this claim. Groups supported by the Islamic Republic have repeatedly used Iranian-made weapons in their attacks in the region. Hamas killed at least 1,400 Israelis, mostly civilians, in the terrorist attack on October 7, and kidnapped about 240 Israelis and foreign nationals, including children, women, and the elderly. The United States, Canada, the European Union, Japan, Israel, and several other countries have classified Hamas as a terrorist organization. The G7 foreign ministers support humanitarian pauses in Gaza but do not call for a ceasefire. A film showing Hamas's crimes has been screened 70 times around the world so far.
