Israeli General: The Iranian Government Does Not Know What Will Happen to Hezbollah

Hertzi Halevi, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, said on Friday in a gathering of Israeli military commanders in southern Lebanon that the Islamic Republic of Iran is unaware of what will happen to Hezbollah as the "main arm" of this government. According to Halevi, Israeli forces have managed to eliminate about 1,500 members of this Iran-affiliated group since the escalation of conflicts with Hezbollah. He emphasized that Israel is determined to inflict the hardest possible blows on Hezbollah. Halevi pointed out the destruction of Hezbollah's command structure in recent Israeli airstrikes, addressing the Israeli soldiers present in southern Lebanon: "You are also destroying the local command structure [of Hezbollah]." The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army further stated that Hezbollah conceals the actual casualty figures, including its killed commanders, but based on "conservative" estimates by Israel, around 1,500 members of this group have been killed. Halevi added that in his belief, the actual number of Hezbollah casualties is higher than this. He noted the continued surrender of Hezbollah forces to the Israeli army, stating that this action reflects their morale and level of combat.
