As the likelihood of Yahya Sinwar's death, the leader of Hamas, increases, Yoav Galant, Israel's Minister of Defense, posted on platform X on Thursday, October 18, stating, "Our enemies cannot hide. We will pursue and destroy them." Although Galant did not specifically name Sinwar, the release of a joint image of Hassan Nasrallah, the former leader of Hezbollah, and Mohammed Deif, a senior Hamas commander in Gaza, alongside an image of an unidentified third person, all of whom were killed by the Israeli army, has strengthened the possibility of Yahya Sinwar's death. Concurrently, Israeli media reported, citing a "senior official" from the country, that based on current assessments from security organizations, it is highly likely that Sinwar has been killed. Channel 12 of Israel also confirmed, quoting officials from the country, that Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, has been killed. The Israeli army and the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) released a joint statement indicating they are investigating the potential death of Yahya Sinwar during a deadly attack in Gaza. According to this statement, three Palestinian militants were killed during the attack, whose identities cannot currently be confirmed. The statement noted that the militants were hiding in a building that showed no signs of the presence of Israeli hostages. The joint statement from the army and Shin Bet emphasized that active forces in the area will continue operations with "necessary caution." In this context, Channel 12 Israel reported that army soldiers targeted a group of Palestinian militants on the ground floor of a building on Wednesday and, upon entering, realized that one of the deceased "bears a very strong resemblance" to Yahya Sinwar.
