Israeli President Calls for 'Uprising' of Iranian People Against Islamic Republic

Isaac Herzog, the President of Israel, called for an 'uprising' of the people of Iran and Lebanon against the 'evil empire' of the Islamic Republic and its proxy groups in an interview with Al Arabiya on Sunday. According to him, cooperation between Israel and other regional countries could lead to a better future and the establishment of an organization similar to NATO to prevent extremism in the Middle East. Regarding a possible Israeli response to last week's missile attack by the Islamic Republic on his country, he stated, 'We are busy calculating all scenarios in this regard.' Speaking with Al Arabiya on the eve of the first anniversary of the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, he noted, 'This war has been waged by the evil empire, by [the government of] Iran and its proxies against us.' The Israeli President added that there are still 101 Israeli hostages in captivity, that the war in Lebanon and Gaza against Hezbollah and Hamas is ongoing, and that 'we are trying to change the equation and restore hope to the people of the Middle East.' Isaac Herzog described the current moment as a 'golden moment' for powers seeking a better future for the Middle East and advancing new ideas and plans to resolve the ongoing conflict. Concurrently with the statements of the Israeli President, Jafar Yazarlu, the spokesman for the Civil Aviation Organization, announced that 'due to operational constraints that have arisen,' all flights at the country's airports have been canceled from 9 PM on Sunday night until 6 AM on Monday. Following the missile attack on Tuesday, October 10, by the Islamic Republic of Iran on Israel, Israeli officials have stated that they will not leave this attack unanswered. The Iranian government fired 180 ballistic missiles towards Israel in this attack, of which, according to Israeli officials, 90 percent were destroyed before hitting Israeli territory, and the remaining 10 percent caused no significant damage or casualties. Meanwhile, the Iranian government had also fired over 320 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones towards Israel on the night of April 25 of this year, the majority of which were intercepted by a coalition consisting of Israel, the United States, France, Britain, and Jordan before reaching Israeli territory.
