Israeli officials have compiled a list of items they consider to be 'existing deficiencies' in the framework of the recent nuclear agreement between Iran and world powers. According to an Associated Press report published on Monday, April 6, this list was prepared and organized in the form of an analytical document by officials from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office over the past two days. The analytical document is intended to serve as the basis for activities that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to undertake in the coming months to either annul the final nuclear agreement with Iran or alter its content. Netanyahu, a staunch critic of negotiations with Iran, has criticized the recent agreement as insufficient to address the 'dangers' posed by Iran's nuclear program. He is expected to take action against the framework of this agreement and engage in lobbying efforts. The final text of the agreement between Iran and world powers is set to be finalized by June 30. The framework of the nuclear agreement was announced on Thursday in Lausanne, Switzerland. According to this agreement, the potential pathway for Iran's nuclear program to move towards militarization is to be blocked, in exchange for a reduction in sanctions pressure on Iran. According to a document provided by the U.S. regarding these commitments, Tehran is willing to reduce its active centrifuges from 9,000 to 5,000 and to submit to rigorous international monitoring and inspections of its nuclear facilities. Centrifuges are devices that can enrich uranium gas to the levels needed for fuel production and to higher levels for the construction of nuclear warheads. However, the official Israeli report, prepared by Netanyahu's office officials over the weekend, claims that the inspection system is not as precise as negotiators claim, as it does not explicitly require Iran to open its nuclear sites 'anywhere and anytime' to inspectors. The report also claims that the agreement is vague regarding what will happen to Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium, which is a crucial component for producing nuclear bombs. According to this analytical document, the agreement also does not specify how sanctions should be re-imposed on Iran in the event of a breach of commitments.
