Israel's Reaction to the Unveiling of 'Fattah': We Always Have a Better Response to Counter the Bluster of Israel's Enemies

On Tuesday, June 6, the Israeli Defense Minister reacted to the Islamic Republic's claim about the development of a hypersonic missile, stating: 'I hear the bluster of Israel's enemies regarding their military advancements, but we will always have a better response to counter that.' According to Ynet, Yoav Gallant continued, 'Israel has the necessary capabilities to confront such threats.' He also stated in a video message: 'We know how to protect Israeli citizens, and if, God forbid, they start a war with us, we know how to respond with a crushing blow to our enemies.' On the same day, Iran claimed to have developed a hypersonic missile capable of traveling at '15 times' the speed of sound. Iranian officials did not release any images of a successful launch of the new missile named 'Fattah.' A spokesperson for the U.S. National Security Council told the Persian section of Voice of America: 'We have seen Iran's claim regarding the hypersonic missile; the United States remains committed to countering the Islamic Republic's missile program and disrupting its supply networks using all available tools.' This White House official emphasized: 'The imposition of sanctions on entities and individuals involved in the production and procurement of materials for the Islamic Republic's missile program is one of Washington's actions, and at the same time, the U.S. is widely engaging with its partners and allies to ensure the proper implementation of sanctions and hold Iran accountable for its actions.' He also stated: 'The U.S. uses its presence in forums and institutions that impose restrictions on the export of nuclear weapons to increase awareness of Iran's missile program and pressure countries to take steps to prevent Iran from acquiring sensitive proliferation technology through foreign suppliers.' John Kirby, the National Security Council's Coordinator for Strategic Communications, commented during a press conference on Tuesday regarding the hypersonic missile that the Islamic Republic claims to have unveiled: 'The Biden administration has been very clear, precise, and stringent against Iran's destabilizing activities in the region, especially its ballistic missile program.'
