Jaish al-Adl Confirms the Death of 12 Members in 'Joint Iran-Pakistan Attacks'

Jaish al-Adl reports that 12 of its fighters were killed and four others were injured in 'joint airstrikes by Iran and Pakistan' in the Saravan border area. Iran and Pakistan have yet to officially confirm the execution of 'joint operations'. The opposition group to the Islamic Republic stated in a statement on Wednesday, November 7, that the airstrikes against its members occurred the previous night. The statement adds that two senior commanders of the group, including Ibrahim Sabakzai, known as Hafez Hassan, and Mohammad Mohammadzei, known as Amir Omar, were among the dead. This militant group, opposed to the Iranian government, is designated as a 'terrorist organization' by the Islamic Republic and several Western governments, including the United States, and has carried out numerous attacks against Iranian military forces in Sistan and Baluchestan over the years. In the latest incident, on November 5, the Sistan and Baluchestan police announced that 10 soldiers and personnel of the Gohar Kuh police station in the Taftan district were killed in an armed attack. Jaish al-Adl claimed responsibility for this attack hours later, stating that these forces had raided the homes of residents 'who were protesting the government's policies' and attempted to 'intimidate the locals from pursuing their demands' by detaining some. Ahmad Shafaei, the deputy commander of the Quds Ground Force of the IRGC, announced on November 6 that in connection with the Taftan incident, '14 terrorists have been arrested and 8 have been killed' during the 'Guardians of Security' exercise in southern Sistan and Baluchestan since last week. In the Wednesday statement, Jaish al-Adl emphasized that despite the deaths of its members in the 'joint Iran-Pakistan attacks', they will continue their operations.
