Jennifer Lopez Files for Divorce After Two Years of Marriage to Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez, the Hollywood singer and actress, has filed for divorce after two years of marriage to American filmmaker and actor Ben Affleck. According to AFP, Lopez submitted her divorce petition to the Los Angeles Superior Court after two decades of romantic relationships, despite the couple officially marrying in 2022. The 55-year-old Lopez has been married four times, while the 53-year-old Affleck has been married twice. AFP reports that Lopez filed for divorce on Tuesday, August 30, but earlier, the celebrity news website 'TMZ' had reported that the divorce was filed on April 26. The romantic relationship of this couple, dubbed 'Bennifer' in the media, began in 2003 during the filming of 'Gigli', but they separated despite an initial decision to marry and collaborate on another film called 'Jersey Girl' in 2004, citing 'heavy public scrutiny' as the reason for their split. The couple eventually rekindled their relationship in 2021 and married a year later. Lopez stated at their wedding, 'Love is beautiful, kind, and patient; it waited 20 years.' Jennifer Lopez has previously been married three times, first to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, and then to Chris Judd from 2001 to 2003, both of whom are actors. She later married singer Marc Anthony in 2004, with whom she has 14-year-old twins. Lopez's marriage to Anthony also ended in 2021. Ben Affleck was previously married to actress Jennifer Garner in 2005, with whom he has three children. They separated in 2018.
