Joint Campaign by Alireza Akhundi and the 'Alliance Against Iran's Nuclear Program': Stop Trading with the IRGC

On the anniversary of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini's death in the custody of the morality police, Alireza Akhundi, an Iranian-Swedish member of parliament, in a joint campaign with the 'Alliance Against Iran's Nuclear Program', called for an immediate end to Swedish companies' transactions with Iran. The statement highlighted the Islamic Republic's dominance, particularly the IRGC's control over all economic aspects of Iran, stating that international companies' dealings with Iran equate to establishing trade relations with the Islamic Republic and financially supporting a 'disgraced government'. Johan Flodros, an EU foreign affairs employee, has been in Iranian prisons for over five hundred days. Ahmadreza Jalali, an Iranian-Swedish doctor and university professor, was arrested over seven years ago after traveling to Iran on charges of espionage for Israel and sentenced to death. The statement emphasized that the Swedish security-intelligence service has repeatedly warned about the Iranian government's industrial espionage operations and the intimidation of minorities residing in Sweden. Therefore, Alireza Akhundi and the non-profit organization 'Alliance Against Iran' believe that Swedish businesses must immediately sever their ties with the Islamic Republic and the IRGC. Alireza Akhundi noted that Swedish companies had withdrawn from dealings with Russia following its invasion of Ukraine, emphasizing that 'the Iranian government, in addition to violently suppressing its citizens', is complicit in 'killing innocent Ukrainians' by supplying 'weapons and drones' to Russian forces. The Iranian-Swedish parliament member remarked that there are no signs of a reduction in Tehran's hostile actions, stating, 'We must give Swedish companies the opportunity to be on the right side of history.'
