Joint Efforts by Paris and Washington to Halt Conflicts Between Israel and Hezbollah

Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, announced on Thursday the joint efforts of Paris and Washington to stop the conflicts between Israel and the Hezbollah group in Lebanon. Mr. Macron, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Italy, stated that the United States, France, and Israel have agreed to enhance their collaborative efforts to implement a roadmap that Paris had previously proposed to reduce tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. France and the United States have held consultations in recent months to halt the conflicts and prevent the escalation of the war occurring at the Lebanon-Israel border, with Paris having presented a written plan to Israel and Hezbollah in this regard. Emmanuel Macron said, 'We have agreed with the United States on the principles of a tripartite contact group consisting of Israel, the United States, and Paris to implement the roadmap we proposed, and we will also conduct similar consultations with Lebanese officials.' Hezbollah, which has conditioned the cessation of hostilities on a ceasefire between Israel and the extremist group Hamas in Gaza, stated on Thursday that in coordinated attacks, it targeted 9 Israeli military bases with drone and rocket strikes, leading to an increase in tensions at the border between the two countries for the second consecutive day. A senior French official described the situation as urgent for Paris and Washington, emphasizing that the two countries must intensify their efforts given the dangerous conditions that have arisen.
